Senior software developer

Purpose

The main tasks for a Senior Developer are to design, lead development, and test the applications, services and integrations.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Contribute to the maintenance and updates of existing web applications.
• Architect, design, and develop critical and complex web applications and ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
• Lead the software development life cycle from conception to deployment.
• Guide the selection of appropriate technologies and frameworks for new projects.
• Perform code reviews and adhere to software development best practices.
• Lead team discussions, find secure solutions and contribute with a positive attitude.
• Customer contact in special error situations and during pilot periods. Also in connection with further development of products, with regard to requests for functional features.
• When applicable, advise Product Owner on the backlog (feasibility/scope of requirements)
• Actively lead, guide and contribute to decrease the level of technical debt
• Ensure software compliance and scalability, and implement security and data protection solutions.
• Oversee junior and mid-level developers, offering technical guidance, and ensuring team adherence to development timelines and quality benchmarks.
• Communicate with other technical resources regarding technical demands and changes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' further education, e.g. IT course at polytechnic or university and typically over 6 years of work experience as a .NET developer. Experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.
• Ability to change and adapt to new demands and expectations in the role.
• Comprehensive understanding of .NET architecture and microservices. Expertise in database management, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS), and DevOps principles.
• Strong leadership abilities, with experience in project management and agile methodologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a portfolio demonstrating complex projects successfully delivered.
• Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
• Ability to work and inspire in a team environment and lead discussions.
• Fluency in both written and spoken Swedish and English

Work Environment

Work can be performed both onsite, at any of the offices used by Flex Applications, or remotely according to current workplace policy. Flexibility may be required to meet urgent needs outside of regular working hours.
